For a change, this will be a photo post with few words.  This was a lunch of three friends attempting to eat healthily at the ever popular Cafe Sopra, and succeeding to varying degrees.

Roast pumpkin salad

You can't see them, but this salad contained mussels

Although this was not my choice, it was my second favourite salad of the ones we ordered. All salads were generously sized.

Cabbage Salad

This salad, looking like nothing more than a huge mount of shaved cabbage, was simplicity at its best. The recipe is available here at the Fratelli Fresh website. What can I say about this salad except that it was just incredible? For something involving so few ingredients, there was a beautiful alchemy that resulted.

Okay, so this kind of spoiled the whole "healthy" intent....

Chocolate and pistachio souffle

A beautifully executed chocolate souffle, what more needs to be said?

Figs with Amaretto and cream

Well known for using seasonal produce simply and effectively, this dessert was an example of this, though the generous amount of Amaretto might not be to everyone's taste.

Eton Mess

This was my choice of dessert. Having a fondness for Eton Mess, and generously filled with fresh fruit as this was, I couldn't help but think that perhaps they could have presented it looking slightly less as though it had been just plonked onto the plate.  Presentation wise, there was a stark comparison to the one that I had a few months ago, though this one was obviously a lot more generously sized. Taste wise it's a hard contest, but extra points to Burlington's rendition for its inclusion of toffee.

Cafe Sopra has its regulars, and has been a very popular lunch destination since its opening. If you go there for lunch I'd recommend that you go as early as possible, as it fills up quickly. I have only been here a handful of times, but each time has been a pleasant experience filled with good food amidst a relaxing ambience.
