Seiko 5 Sports Map Meter SKZ23K1

Some more information on the watch featured in the previous post. This Seiko Diver is a 200M Stainless Steel Black IP Automatic.

The meaning of the "5" in "Seiko 5" originates in the 1970s, when Seiko developed the idea of a range called "Seiko 5" with watches that had to have the following five attributes :

1. Automatic
2. Water resistant
3. Shock resistant
4. Date
5. Day

However, there are some watches labelled as "Seiko 5" which are in fact missing the "day" function. These faux 5s contain a Calibre 7S25 movement. Additionally, re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber.

Details:

1. 23 jewel Automatic Cal7S36 Seiko movement
2. Black and very dark grey dial with lumibrite hands and markers
3. Black stainless steel case, screw case-back and bracelet, black plastic details
4. Double safety lock three fold clasp with easy push-button release
5. 1/50000 Map meter
6. Bi-directional rotating bezel
7. Water resistant 200m (20 bar)
8. Screw-lock crown
9. Day / Date display at 3 o'clock position
10. 40.5mm; 220g

This is a cool watch and the Tarts are proud to admit that three of them have one.
