Creperie Du Monde

Creperie Du Monde
51 Chatsworth Rd
Hackney
London E5 0LH

This is the most fantastic creperie that has opened in my home town of Hackney.

The area seems to have aways been 'up and coming', but with cafes like this opening, it really just might be getting ahead.

Owned by Stefan (the chap in the brown leather cap and barista), he opened up shop in September 2010. On opening day the queues were around the block, and it quicky became a part of the local community and popular hangout.

I'm not surprised - the waffle with maple syrup is the best I've eaten, the selection of toppings almost endless.

Their coffee is the best I've had to date outside Soho.

There's a great buzz about this place, and the interior is welcoming and relaxed. The decor is predominantly exposed brick and has that industrial sort of feel, in tune with the butcher that used to occupy the space.

It seems that I'm addicted to this place : cappuccino and the all day breakfast crepe. The smells coming for the hot plates are a constant lure, the savoury menu is as good as the waffles and sweet menu.

Yes I am addicted to the waffles.

Top marks to Stefan and his team - great food and great atmosphere in an ever up and coming Hackney - (Hackney/ Startford will be hosting the 2012 Olympics).

Other great things about Hackney -
